Darren Burrows
Head of Customer Engineering, Fleet Space Technologies
Space exploration has always been a geoscience mission. By having a presence in both space and mineral exploration Fleet is able to cross-pollinate innovation ideas between these industries.
This talk will focus on three aspects of Fleet's current technology:
We will then explore our R&D pipeline and provide a glimpse of how we see the future of mineral exploration.
Darren has 20 years of geoscience exploration experience hunting for metals, energy and water. Initially he worked in the deep Gold mines and Bushveld Igneous Complex of South Africa planning drillholes, logging core and managing exploration data. A large part of his career was spent in airborne geophysics with Fugro / CGG / Xcalibur where he has held various roles focusing on geophysical data processing & interpretation as well as business development. At Fleet Space Technologies he uses seismic, and other geophysical data, to solve mineral exploration problems, and helps develop new exploration tools. Darren graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa with a B.Sc in Geology & Physics, and a B.Sc Hons degree in Geophysics.
